Tiko Municipality to be a grand Chantier in the days ahead….says Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III

The mayor of the gateway city, HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III has told Citizens of Tiko Municipality that in the days ahead everywhere will be a grand Chantier

He made the statement on Thursday October 30, 2025 at the Tiko Council Banquet Hall during the 2025 Budget Orientation Debate, BOD, ahead of the 2026 Budget.

The Session that brought together Member of Parliament for Fako East, Hon Findi Stanley, Senator Fonderson Lionel, Régional Councilors, the Divisional Delegate of Decentralization and Local Development, Fako, Mr Naseri Julius, Councilors of Tiko council, Neighborhood and Village Committee Executives, Service Heads, Economic Stakeholders, Deconcentrated Services, Council Staff, Citizens, among others witnessed the presence of The Third Assistant Senior Divisional Officer for Fako and Assistant Divisional officer of Tiko.

In his welcome speech, the shepherd of Tiko Council, HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III thanked partners of the council for their wonderful support towards the growth of the municipality. He went further by appreciating the Neighborhood and Village Committee Members put inplace four years ago by the Council which has gone a long way to serve as a major planning tool for the development of the municipality, congratulated them and called on them to do more.

Mayor Mesoso III added that the Budget Orientation Debate which is in line with the Decentralization process, is an opportunity for Citizens to express their opinions in the Municipality Budget

During the debate which was the Sixth under the stewardship of Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III since taking over at the helm of Tiko council in March 2020, presentations such as the legal framework of BOD by the Divisional Delegate of Decentralization and Local Development Fako, Mr Naseri Julius, the Social, Economic, Financial Situation and prospects of Tiko council for 2026 by Council Secretary General, Mrs Eri ITA Tatason, Results on Citizens Consultation by Tiko Council Head of Local Solution, Mr Sone Julius, the Mayor’s 2025 Report Card as to Rate of Execution of Projects Funded by Feicom, PIB and others by Council Communal Development Officer, HRH Mbollo Ndedi Yves Patrice, among others was presented with a proposed Budget of 1,856,075.000 for Tiko Council in the year 2026.

The BOD ended with Various Neighborhood and Village Committee Executives outlining their priority projects to the Council especially with the coming in of Prolog which will fund a project in each Zone(20) throughout Tiko Municipality.
